ADMINISTRATION

Orientation

Responsibility for the organisation and governance of Prime Light University rests with the Board of Regents headed by the Chancellor/Chairman. Regents exercise responsibility for the establishment of the basic policies that govern all Prime Light University campuses, and meet on a regular basis to review the implementation of these policies. Board members are primarily concerned with the academic quality of the institution, and regularly review data that allow them to ensure that the institution meets the needs of the students and serves the public interest of the communities in which it is located. Regents are unsalaried and are reimbursed only for travel and related expenses in connection with their official duties.

Prime Light University Administration

The authority to administer Prime Light University has been delegated by the Board of Regents to the academic and administrative staff. The Chairman (also called Chancellor) of Prime Light University has the responsibility for ensuring that the institution achieves its mission through the effective and efficient management of its financial, human, and academic resources. The Vice Chancellor is charged with overall responsibility for the administration of Prime Light University, including the implementation of board policy at all study centres. Assisting the Vice Chancellor in these activities is the President’s Council, headed by the Chairman who appoints Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrars, Deans, Heads of Department, Directors and Deputy Directors, which has shared responsibility for the administration of a number of key functions, including fiscal and property management, financial aid, student recruitment and services, information systems, institutional research, marketing, and development.

Programme Advisory Council

Schools and programmes within Prime Light University have advisory boards, consisting of professionals from the associated fields and alumni. The advisory boards meet at least annually to discuss issues such as curriculum and community involvement. They also provide valuable feedback to the programme faculty and staff regarding current trends and expectations within their respective professional communities.
